# Messages (PRO)

#### Overview

Practick's messaging system enables direct communication between student and teacher within the app itself — without relying on WhatsApp, email, or any external channel.

> **Requirements to use messages:**
>
> * Active **PRO** plan
> * Organization with at least one **active registered teacher**
>
> Students who study independently, without a teacher linked on the platform, do not have access to the messaging system.

#### Accessing messages

Tap **Messages** in the app's side menu. You'll see a list of all your active conversations with your teacher.

The messages icon in the menu shows a **badge** with the number of unread messages.

***

#### Starting a conversation

Tap **"New conversation"** to open a thread with your teacher. When creating it, you can associate the conversation with a specific context:

| Context | When to use |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **None** | General question, not linked to specific content |
| **Exercise** | Question about a specific exercise |
| **Practice** | Question about a complete practice |
| **Assignment** | Question about a task assigned by the teacher |

Associating a context helps the teacher understand exactly what you're asking about — without you having to explain everything from scratch.

#### Inside a conversation

Messages appear in chronological order. New messages from the teacher arrive in real time — you don't need to refresh the screen.

Unread messages are automatically marked as read when you open the conversation.
