# Getting Started

#### Creating your account

Access the Practick app on your phone (iOS or Android) or through the browser at **v1.practickapp.com**.

On the home screen, tap **"Create account"** and choose your profile:

* **I'm a student** — immediate access, no teacher required
* **I'm a teacher** — your registration goes through a quick approval before the panel is unlocked

> If you received an invite from a teacher, tap the invite link before creating your account. The app will automatically recognize it and add you to the right class.

***

#### The initial survey

Registration is completed in 4 quick steps:

**Step 1 — Your details**\
Full name, email, and date of birth. You also choose your current guitar level.

**Step 2 — Practice focus**\
Choose up to 3 techniques you want to develop. Options are organized by category:

* **Picking** — Alternate Picking, Economy Picking, Hybrid Picking, Sweep Picking
* **Fretting** — left-hand techniques
* **Musicality** — expression and musicality

**Step 3 — Your schedule**\
Enter how many days per week you can practice and how much time per day. Then order your chosen techniques by priority — drag to place the most important one at the top.

**Step 4 — Password and terms**\
Create a password and accept the Terms of Use. Tap **"Create Account"** to finish.

> There are no right or wrong answers. The more honest you are, the more useful the app will be for you.

#### Your first practice

After signing up, you land directly on the main screen with the available courses. Here's how the hierarchy works:

```
Course
└── Practice
    └── Exercise
```

Choose a course that interests you, open a practice, and start with the first exercise. The app will guide you through the rest.

#### The exercise screen

This is where practice really happens. You'll find:

* **Animated tablature** — shows exactly what to play, Guitar Hero style
* **Built-in metronome** — keeps time during the exercise
* **Recommended BPM** — the ideal speed to start the exercise
* **Exercise techniques** — what you're working on at that moment

Tap **"Complete"** when you finish the exercise to log your practice session.

***

#### Building the habit

This is the most important point — and the hardest one.

Getting better at guitar doesn't depend on practicing for hours. It depends on practicing **every day**, even for just 15 minutes. Practick was designed for exactly that: open the app, know what to do, and start without wasting time.

A few tips to stay consistent:

* **Set a fixed time** — before work, after dinner, it doesn't matter. What matters is that it's always the same
* **Start with the easiest** — resistance is normal at first. Starting with a simple exercise breaks the inertia
* **Don't skip days** — a short session is worth more than a long one after several days without practicing

***

#### Available tools

Beyond practices, the app has tools you can use at any time:

| Tool                | What it does                                                      | Plan |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | ---- |
| **Tuner** | Detects the note through the microphone and shows if it's in tune | Free |
| **Metronome**       | Standalone time keeper                                            | Free |
| **Progress Report** | Detailed statistics of your evolution | PRO |
