# Glossary

#### A

**Assignment**\
A practice or exercise assigned by the teacher to the student, with a defined deadline. Appears in the **Tasks** tab of the app with the current status: pending, in progress, completed, or overdue.

***

#### C

**Course**\
The highest level in the content hierarchy. A course groups one or more Practices around a theme or goal — for example, "Picking Technique" or "Beginner from Scratch". Appears on the app's main screen as a card.

***

#### E

**Exercise**\
The basic unit of practice. Each exercise has a name, description, tablature, recommended BPM, and associated techniques. It's what you execute on the practice screen.

***

#### F

**Feedback**\
A comment left by the teacher on a specific exercise. Appears highlighted on the exercise screen when the teacher leaves an observation.

**Free**\
Practick's basic plan, free of charge. Gives access to courses, tuner, metronome, and profile.

***

#### I

**Invite**\
A link or email sent by the teacher to add a student to a class. There are two types: email invite (individual) and class link invite (anyone with the link can join).

***

#### M

**Metronome**\
A built-in tool to keep time during practice. Available as a standalone tool and also within each exercise.

***

#### O

**Organization**\
The structure that groups teachers and students in Practick. A music school or studio, for example, is an organization. Solo teachers also have their own organization when they sign up.

***

#### P

**Practice**\
A set of exercises within a Course. For example, the course "Picking Technique" may have the practices "Basic Alternate Picking" and "Economy Picking". Each practice has its own set of exercises and can be assigned as a task by the teacher.

**PRO**\
Practick's paid plan. Unlocks advanced features: custom practice, AI-generated practice, messaging with the teacher, and detailed progress reports.

**Pending Teacher**\
Temporary status for a user who signed up as a teacher but is still awaiting approval. During this period, access to the teacher panel is limited.

***

#### S

**Survey**\
Questions asked on first access to understand your profile: musical style, level, techniques you want to develop, and time available to practice. Your answers help personalize your experience.

***

#### T

**Tablature**\
A visual representation of how to play an exercise on guitar, showing which string and fret each note should be played on. In Practick, the tablature appears animated during practice in Guitar Hero mode.

**Thread**\
A conversation between a student and teacher within the messaging system. It can have an associated context, such as a specific exercise or practice.

**Class**\
A group of students created by the teacher. Allows assigning tasks and sending invites to multiple students at once.

**Tuner**\
A built-in app tool that uses the phone's microphone to detect the note you are playing and indicate whether it is in tune. Available to all users.
